Mr. Samba is an alumnus of the University of Nigeria, where he obtained his LLB degree in 1980. He also attended the Nigerian Law School between 1980 and 1981. He holds a postgraduate diploma in International Law from the Jawahal Nehru University, India and Indian Academy of International and Diplomacy.

He has held various legal positions in the Gambia, including Senior State Counsel at the Ministry of Justice before setting up a private legal practice in 1986. He is an industrialist and director/shareholder in several companies in The Gambia.
